John Orange, Chairman, Non-Executive Director
Mr. Orange is a former chief executive, principally with the BP Group, having
spent 29 years with BP working around the world. Educated in Dublin, he obtained
his BA (Law) degree from Trinity College in 1965 and is a barrister who has
specialized in energy resources throughout his career. Mr. Orange is a past
President of the UK Petroleum Industry Association (1993-1995) and a Fellow
of the Energy Institute. His board experience includes a number of directorships.
Mr. Orange currently is a Senior Non Executive Director on the board of Premier
Oil PLC, where he serves as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, member of
the Audit Committee and member of the Nomination Committee.
Tony Henshaw, President and Chief Executive Officer
Tony Henshaw began his career as an exploration geophysicist with Texaco and
Exxon before joining BP where he worked in exploration, on development stage
projects, in corporate finance and planning, M&A, and ultimately became Deputy
General Manager of the Abu Dhabi asset. In 1996 he joined PowerGen North Sea
Ltd where he was Technical Director. On the acquisition of PowerGen by Centrica
plc in 1998, he became Director of Centrica Resources Ltd. before his appointment
as Director of Gas Business Development in 2004. Mr. Henshaw has been directly
involved in the discovery of more than 500 mmboe of reserves of oil and gas,
and has broad upstream commercial and technical experience encompassing exploration,
development, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, as well as gas, power
and LNG projects. He was involved in negotiating Centrica's entry into the Nigerian
upstream sector and was responsible for more than $1 billion of upstream acquisitions
over the last few years in deals ranging from $10 million to $500 million. Mr.
Henshaw holds a BSc in Geology and Physics from Sheffield University, an MSc
in Geophysics from Newcastle University, and an MBA from London Business School.
Roderick deCourcy-Ireland, Non-Executive Director
Rod Ireland has had a distinguished 47-year career in the Canadian securities
industry with such firms as A.E. Ames, Wood Gundy, St. James Securities, Northern
Securities. Recently retired, Mr. Ireland had, over the last 15 years, made
his specialty small cap companies with a particular emphasis on resource industries.
Educated in England, Mr. Ireland graduated from Radley College with honours
in Mathematics, and went on to study Economics & Economic Geography at Cambridge
University. He currently is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (F.C.S.I.)
and a Member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts.
Ian Gray, Chairman, Non-Executive Director
Ian Gray is a geology graduate from Durham University who spent several years
in seismic contracting, covering assignments in Oman, Nigeria and Australia.
Subsequently, he joined Conoco and over the next 25 years held a series of international
management positions culminating in his appointment as President of Dubai Petroleum.
He left to join Amerada Hess in 1995 as Vice President of International Exploration
and Production and in 1996 became a non-executive Director of Premier Oil representing
Amerada Hess' interests with Premier Oil. After leaving Amerada Hess in 2000
he continued as an independent Director of Premier Oil until July 2006. In 2005
he became Chairman of Mitra Energy an oil exploration and production company
which works exclusively in southeast Asia.
Christopher J.F. Harrop, Non-Executive Director
Christopher J.F. Harrop is a director of the company. He was formerly a Senior
Vice President and a director of Canaccord Capital Corporation a Canadian broker
dealer, and has served as a director for a number of companies including Clublink
Corporation and International Uranium Corporation. Mr. Harrop holds an Honours
B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario,the CFA
designation and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
His professional qualifications include the Canadian Securities Course, the
Registered Representative Manual Exam, the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers
Qualifying Exam and the Registered Options Principal Exam.
